Dear Reg;
I must share with
you that I'm not a CLASS graduate, but am
thoroughly enjoying your "Smooth Riding --
The Pridmore Way" book. I was working
on the Throttle Management area of my riding and
went out riding one evening with my front brake
and clutch covered (mountainous and lots of twisties) as You (Reg) demonstrate in the book.
First time out was miserable. My hands
cramped up and I felt very awkward. I was
determined to make it work for me. Second
time out, riding was easier with smoother shifting
and quicker/smoother response on the front brake.
To make a long story short, my riding partner
questioned my technique and showed a certain
amount of disdain until we got to the twisties on
a 10 mile downhill grade and I easily out rode him
with smoother riding (riding conservatively of
course). This in turn generated his interest
in the "Smooth Riding" book and more
questions about the covering of the clutch and
front brake. Last Sunday, my riding buddy
was out f
or a ride and a vehicle
"pulled" out in front of him on a
residential street. His first reaction was
"I'm going to hit this guy and there is no
way I can avoid him!". Guess what?,
He was covering his front brake, kept his cool and
stopped short of the classic "T bone".
In conclusion:
Reg, I feel as though we have known each other for
years (you and me). Your experience is a
wonderful conglomerate of man and machine.
Your writing skills and ability to teach and
entertain at the same time are second to none.
Thank You for a job well done. Your sharing
of your life experience has extended countless
other's lives and I wanted to express my
gratitude. I look forward to the day that I
can attend one or more of your CLASS days.
Now with out further "sentiment and mushy
crap", I bid you a good-bye,
"Keeping the
Rubber side Down" and Your Friend,
A Rider...
